The Butterfly Valley Orchids area, which covers 7,208 square meters, consist of the Heaven and Earth middle area, the Cyathea Lake’s scenic front lawn, the Youlin Shaded plants area, and the Rare Perched Magnolia Park Arboretum, all of which are an ornamental collection of research as one of the orchid plant gardens.
The Butterfly Valley Orchids area’s interest is in retaining the original habitat, based on perfecting the method of growing orchids suited to various conditions, and visiting orchids growing in the wild. Since ancient times, the Valley Girl orchid, known for its elegant and feminine posture and fragrance has been revered in famous poetry. Lu Yuan, a renowned poet of the Yuan Dynasty, wrote a graceful piece that reads:

I planted two or three Valley Girl buds, and the next day, the weather was warm with sunshine.  While I sat in my room for a long time, I was not aware of the sweet scent of their blossom, but when I opened my window, I was welcomed to the blessings of butterflies.

The Butterfly Valley Butterfly Orchids area is divided into interpretation area, butterfly area, as well as the beautiful three ornamental orchid Valley area. The interpretation area includes live butterfly display sections, and two fan-shaped butterfly herbariums. The live butterfly display area mainly consists of visiting chrysalises, visuals on the process of emergence, adult status and their living environment, a main display of various butterflies in fan herbariums, and scientific knowledge about butterflies. The Orchid Valley area is the beautiful boardwalk and the higher-lying valley area, where the main focus is ornamental variety of epiphytic orchids, containing sufficient scattered light, moist air, humus - rich earth, and suitable temperatures. Along the boardwalk while, listening to the gurgling stream flowing, you can enjoy a variety of orchid plants on both sides as well as seeing the natural growth of other plants.
