Starting construction in 1991, Magnoliids Garden is located in the scenic spot of Heaven on Earth. The left side of mountain trial of Heaven Pond of Heaven on Earth is its boundary in the east, and the mountain from Liangyi Pavilion to firebreak in the west. It covers a land area of over 200 mu. There are 11 genera 130 species of magnoliaceae plants introduced, and over 25,000 of them are for permanent planting. They are respectively from Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Hunan, Guizhou, Hainan, Fujian, Zhejiang, Jaingxi and Sichuan. Nearly 20 of them are national conserved rare and endangered plants, like Manglietiastrum sinicum Law, Alcimandra cathcardii Dandy, Magnolia officinalis Cheng et Law. Magnolia sieboldii, Manglietia insignis (Wall) Bl., Manglietia megaphylla Hu et Cheng, Tsoongiodendron odorum Chun, Parakmeria yunnanensis Hu.. The garden has introduced over 50 species of hybrid mognolia from Xi’an Botanic Garden and Zhejiang Shengzhou Magnolia Institute including magnolia x xoulangeana cv. Semperflorens, magnolia soulangeana cv.Red., and magnolia 'Fragrant Cloud'. Magnolia concinna Law et Zhou ined, Magnolia mutitepala Law et Zeng ined, Betty magnolia, include Magnolia hongxiaoxing, Magnolia hongshouxing, each were successfully cultivated by our country. Magnoliids Garden is roughly divided into four zones: Magnolia Zone, Manglietia Zone, Michelia Zone and Hybrid Plant Zone.
