The Chairwoman of Orchid Expert Group of IUCN/SSC in East Asia Mrs. Xiao Liping and two Australian orchid experts Mr. Gary Yong Gee and Mr. Roger Sawkins visited our Garden on April 5 2010.
On 29 December 2009, the“Museum-School Collaboration • Scientific Education” Forum, which was co-organized by Fairy Lake Botanical Garden.
Deputy President of Shenzhen Urban Management Bureau Song Jianchun, Director of Greening and Forestry Department Ding Shaojiang and Deputy Director of Fairy Lake Botanical Garden and PhD. Zhang Li were invited by IACM to visit Macau and attend the launching ceremony of the books Flora of Macau Bryophytes, Directory of Macau Bryophytes and Dwarfs in Plant Kingdom: Bryophytes on 21 and 22 March 2010.
The “Public Sciences to Campus”, one of the activities of Academic Activities Month jointly organized by Fairy Lake Botanical Garden and Shenzhen Children's Library, was held at Shenzhen Zhuo Ya Primary School and Fenghuang Primary School of Guangming New District on 23 and 25 December 2009, respectively. PhD. Jiao Genlin, PhD. Jin Hong and public science workers from our Garden attended the activity, which was well received by teachers and students.
The signing ceremony for a memorandum of cooperation between Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Shenzhen Government to co-build Fairy Lake Botanical Garden was held at the Garden on May 21, 2009.

It’s been a year since the Cycas debaoensis saplings returned to their hometown Huanglianshan Nature Reserve in Debao County, Guangxi in April 2008. On the morning of April 10, related officials and experts from Cycad Germplasm Conservation Center came to Huanglianshan Nature Reserve to check the growth of these saplings.

Macau Bryophytes Diversity Survey Results Exhibition, which was co-organized by IACM and Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden, was opened in Lou Lim Ieoc Garden, Macau on December 3, 2008.
“Biological Sample Bank and Individual Genomics – Prospect and Challenges for China-Europe Cooperation”, the 4th Seminar of BIONET “Ethical Management of Biology and Biomedical Research: China-Europe Cooperation”, was Held at Fairy Lake Botanical Garden on the afternoon of April 28, and more than 60 experts from China and EU attended the Seminar.
The 2008 China Pteridophyte Symposium, organized by Fern Committee of China Flower Association and sponsored by Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden, was held in Shenzhen from December 17 to 19 2008.
Invited by Botanic Gardens Conservation International and Federation for Botanic Gardens Public Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fairy Lake Botanical Garden attended the World Botanic Gardens Exhibition at 2008 Olympic Games.

The fifth CAS Botanic Garden and Herbarium Public Science Network Committee Work Conference was held at South China Botanical Garden in Guangzhou on February 19 and 20, 2009.
Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden, which is always famous for the plants leisure culture, is well received by citizens thanks to its elegant appearance, rich plants collection and plants culture shows as well as multilevel scientific researches.
On 27 September 2009, Fairy Lake Botanical Garden won the title of “Guangdong Forest Eco-tourism Demonstration Base” by Guangdong Forestry Bureau and Guangdong Province Tourism Bureau, and the Director of Tourism Service Department went to Guangzhou to participate in the awarding ceremony on behalf of our Garden.
Shenzhen Fairy Botanical Garden Chinese Academy of Sciences joined hands with Shenzhen Genomics Institute, School of Environment and Energy, Shenzhen Graduate School of Peking University and Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park to hold the “Life Science and Technology Frontier Forum” at Fairy Lake Botanical Garden on December 3.
After nearly one year of preparation, the No.1 issue of Science World for 2010, a special for Fairy Lake Botanical Garden was published officially in January 2010.
