Large-scale Public Science Exhibition “Magic Rainforest, Colorful Nationality” Opens at Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden

A large-scale public science exhibition called “Magic Rainforest, Colorful Minorities” was opened at Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden on the morning of September 28. Many officials attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches, including Shenzhen Deputy Secretary-General Huang Jinkui, Deputy Governor of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture Chen Qizhong, and Party Secretary of Shenzhen Association for Science & Technology Wang Wenxia, etc. Director of Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden Li Yong presided over the opening ceremony.

The unique program “Flying Butterflies” was included in the opening ceremony. Colorful butterflies were dancing in the sun, expressing the mankind’s beautiful wishes of the harmony between man and nature. The Exhibition attracted a great number of citizens, who actively participated in interactive activities. Many tourists expressed their best wishes about the tropical rainforest protection.

The Exhibition will run till October 26, with a total of over 50 exhibits available (including tropical rainforest plant seeds and fruits, minorities costumes and brocades, Pattra-leaf Scriptures, etc). Themed on the tropical rainforest and the rainforest culture, the Exhibition introduced to the public the tropical rainforest zoology and botany, knowledge of ecology, rainforest culture, conservation measures and achievements through a variety of forms such as image-text display boards, object show, public science explanation and ethnic culture performance, leading people to actively join in the natural environmental protection. The Exhibition gave a good opportunity for Shenzhen citizens to learn about the tropical rainforest and rainforest ethnic culture. It played a very important role in promoting the development of urban ecological and spiritual civilization, and building an eco-friendly and resource-efficient society.
